A LITTLE ABOUT ME

As a computational physiologist, data scientist, and applied mathematician by trade, much of my research has been at the intersection of mathematics, statistics, machine learning, and biology. As a born and bred North Carolinian, I finished my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics in 2019 at North Carolina State University, and I find myself back in Charlotte, NC for now.

In my postdoctoral research at the University of Michigan, I developed mathematical models for patient-specific outcomes and conducted various analyses to investigate physiological phenomena. In particular, I studied issues involving cardiovascular health, including the cardiovascular ramifications of heart failure and autonomic neuropathy at both systemic and cellular levels. My research was generously supported by the T32 Postdoctoral Multidisciplinary Cardiovascular Training Grant associated with the Frankel Cardiovascular Center.

Currently, I am a Staff Research Scientist at Applied Research Associates (ARA), working on problems involving data analytics, machine learning, AI, and pipeline deployment. At ARA, my skillset has expanded dramatically with a focus on delivering algorithmic and AI solutions to extract content from imagery. As a task force lead, my team delivered CI/CD Python modules deployed for government clients. I have been able to expand my knowledge of MLOps developing in-house AI tools integrating with small and large language models that can be Docker containerized and distributed across teams.
